Your Guide to the Fall 2021 Semester

It has been an extraordinary past 18 months at Southwestern College and this fall semester, we are excited to re-open our campuses and see student services and some classes return in person.

We know this hybrid model of online and in-person instruction and services can be confusing, so we’ve put together this fall semester guide to help you get ready.

Ask Me Stations will be available throughout the Chula Vista campus from 8 am-6 pm Monday – Thursday and 8 am-1 pm on Fridays for the first two weeks of the semester and will be able to assist students with questions relating to the Fall Semester, including walking students through how to upload their vaccination status in ServiceNow form.

Remember to double-check your schedule before the semester begins on Aug. 23 and that you can still add classes that have room up until the day the class starts.

Here are our updated fall 2021 semester health guidelines:

  • Vaccines are required for all employees and students accessing in-person instruction and services this fall 2021 semester.
  • Masks are required to be worn in all indoor buildings and facilities.
  • Visitors such as prospective students and parents do not have to document their vaccine status this fall but must wear a mask on all Southwestern College campuses.

Visit the SWC Returns website for more information about our safe reopening plans.

Vaccine Verification

If you’ve signed up for in-person classes this fall, you must be vaccinated against COVID-19. Follow these step-by-step instructions on how to upload your vaccine verification.

If you’re not signing up for in-person classes, you can still upload your verification. All students who verify their vaccine will earn a $100 gift card to the bookstore.

Just follow these simple steps to browse what’s still open for the fall semester:

  • Head to https://webadvisor.swccd.edu/.
  • Click on the “students” tab
  • Check “open classes”
  • Then select a department (anthropology, English, math, etc.)

After the class begins, you may still crash or get added to the waitlist, but you’ll have to email instructors directly for an add code.
