Southwestern College is hosting Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week for the third consecutive year to help students facing food and housing insecurities. From Nov. 18-22, the week features special breakfast bars at the Jag Kitchen hosted by many campus organizations, student-led panels, financial planning workshops and donation drives.

“As a former Southwestern College student and someone who experienced food insecurity and homelessness, it warms my heart to see so many people offer their support and compassion for this project,” said Patricia Bartow, Jag Kitchen creator and coordinator of Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week at Southwestern College. “All the work our campus is doing, not just this week but year-round, is to help our students remove any and all barriers so they may focus on their education and their dreams.”

Hunger and  Homelessness Awareness Week at Southwestern College is anchored by special events and workshops, including a student and community resource fair and a fashion show featuring outfits from the SWC Cares Closet, a campus organization that provides students with free clothing.
