Tomorrow, the Southwestern College Follow Up Accreditation Report and Visit will be heard by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). As we hopefully regain our accreditation, we will work as an institution to ensure that we integrate accreditation into our everyday environment, rather than making it a once every seven-year rush to show we meet the standards. The standards were developed by some of us and our peers as best practices to ensure a quality education for all our students.
So, my question to you is what is the purpose of accreditation? The first person who writes an email back to me with that answer will receive a $20 gift certificate to Jason’s Coffee.
Did you know you can take an online training course on accreditation?

I am flying up today to attend the meeting and speak on behalf of Southwestern College. I will relay the hard work the faculty, staff, board, and managers accomplished over the last 20 months to ensure we are a quality college that is focused on student achievement and success.
Tomorrow we are going to talk about leadership…again.
