Thousands applauded and cheered when legendary activist and civil rights icon Angela Davis took the stage at the Southwestern College gymnasium on Wednesday night. Presented by Southwestern College’s Professional Development Department, Davis spoke to 1,900 from throughout San Diego County. Attendees quickly took to social media to share their experiences hearing Davis’ speech, which included discussions on racial equality, feminism and LGBTQIA issues.
