On Oct. 31, Southwestern College was filled with Halloween spirit as the students and employees filled the campus dressed as everything from ghouls to goblins, heroes to villains, storybook characters to creatures of the night. The next day, on November 1, the Higher Education Center in San Ysidro celebrated Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday honoring those who have passed away, by setting up altars at the center and spending the morning painting sugar skulls, playing lotería and learning about the holiday.
