Southwestern College has placed a $400 million general obligation bond on the November, 2016 ballot. Proposition Z will be used to upgrade the college’s infrastructure and security, build new state-of-the-art classrooms and facilities and invest in job training and transfer opportunities for students and veterans. The bond requires 55 percent voter approval.
The Performing Arts & Cultural Complex, an expansion of the Higher Education Center in San Ysidro and a new Student Union are among the first phase of new facilities under Proposition Z.
