Workshop for ITT Tech students to be held Monday, Sept. 12 at the Higher Education Center in National City.
CHULA VISTA, California – Southwestern College is offering assistance to the students affected by the sudden closure of ITT Technical Institute through personalized counseling, evaluations and financial aid.
The Higher Education Center in National City is welcoming students to consider Southwestern College as a way to continue their higher education goals and has set up a personal workshop on Monday, Sept. 12. The workshop, which will include counselors, financial aid specialists and course evaluators, will be held at the center in room 7216 from 6-8 p.m. The center is located at 880 National City Boulevard, National City.
The center has set up a personal contact for ITT Tech students: Virginia Castillo, education center technician, who can be reached at 619-216-6665 ext. 4853 or vcastillo2@swccd.edu.
Students who wish to enroll at Southwestern College still have the opportunity to register for fall semester second-session classes that begin Oct. 17. Open classes include general education courses in Anthropology, Art, Business, Child Development, History, Psychology and more.
After registering, students will have a chance to petition credit for their previous classes at ITT Tech, but approval will be done on a case-by-case basis as the college conducts a review of the coursework.
“Southwestern College continues to offer support and opportunities to the people and students of this community,” said Interim Superintendent/President Robert Deegan. “In National City, and throughout the entire South Bay, we have people dedicated to help students succeed.”
