SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center (SDCOC), an economic development program of Southwestern College, will host a Speed Partnering event that will connect small businesses with government buyers and large prime contractors. The event on March 23 will be held at the Balboa Park Club from 9 am to noon.
Speed Partnering, also known as Matchmaking, is when small businesses are pre-screened and assigned to meet with buyers from government agencies or large prime contractors for scheduled appointment times during the event. Speed Partnering events are win-win opportunities for all attendees because the appointments are scheduled based on the needs of the buyers, ensuring that the small businesses are a fit for the products and services that are needed or purchased by the agencies and prime contractors.
Rachel Fischer, the Director of the SDCOC, is excited to host this event.
“Speed partnering is similar to speed dating, but for your business,” Fischer said. “With the scheduled appointment matches based on the firms’ capabilities and the buyers’ needs, this format creates better results than your typical contracting and procurement outreach events.”
To date, 31 federal, state and local agencies and prime contractors have registered to participate as buyers and 135 small businesses have registered as sellers. To learn more about the event, visit the event website at: http://www.contractingconnections.org/
SDCOC is a small business resource program that has assisted San Diego based small, women, minority, and disabled veteran-owned businesses in winning over $925 million in government contracts.
