Nominate Students, Staff or Community Organizations for ACCESS Awards
The ACCESS Awards need nominations of Southwestern College students, staff, or community organizations who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to create a sustainable learning environment for students with disabilities.
Winners will be celebrated at the ACCESS Awards Breakfast on October 25 at 7 a.m. in the Student Union East. The student winner will receive a $200 scholarship.
The keynote speaker at the breakfast will be Catherine T. Campisi PhD., former director of the California Department of Rehabilitation and advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities to achieve higher education.
Nominations for this inaugural award are open at http://www.swccd.edu/ACCESS. Nomination forms must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation not exceeding one page.
Malia Flood, Director of Disability Support Services hopes to make this an annual event.
“The purpose of the ACCESS Awards is to honor and recognize the work of Southwestern students and faculty/staff who make the college a welcoming place for students with disabilities,” Flood said.
