San Diego, Imperial Small Business Development Center Hires Regional Director
Southwestern College and the San Diego and Imperial Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is proud to announce Dr. Aleta Wilson as its new Regional Director. Dr. Wilson comes to the SBDC extremely qualified with over 20 years of experience, including eight years in higher education.
As director of the SBDC, Dr. Wilson will provide leadership and oversight in the development, implementation and operations of the SBDC. Under the direction of Christine Perri, Dean of the Higher Education Center in National City, Dr. Wilson will work towards maintaining and developing policies and guidelines for the SBDC that will help with its goals and objectives. Additionally, Dr. Wilson will monitor the program’s activities and financial affairs to deliver effective services to the small business community.
Perri said that Dr. Wilson’s years of experience as a small business entrepreneur, university instructor and business counselor made for a perfect fit with Southwestern College and the SBDC.
“I am delighted that Dr. Wilson will be assuming the role of Regional Director of the San Diego and Imperial Small Business Development Network,” said Perri. “Aleta possesses the background and the credentials to make her an outstanding Regional Director. Her years of experience as well as her demeanor fit well with the people and programs that make up the economic development activities of Southwestern College.”
Perri said she is looking forward to what Wilson can do to grow the business network even more.
“She brings significant enthusiasm for this important leadership position,” Perri said. “Her broad array of successful experiences will enable her to continue the momentum experienced by our Small Business Development Program over the past 15 years and take it to the next level.”
